Our
STORY
Alberto Suarez, started La Esquina del Pan con Bistec in 1966. He lived in Little Habana in Miami, Florida, where sandwich shops were abundant, but He had a dream of creating something unique. He decided to name it after his unique product. He wanted to create a sandwich for “real cuban sandwiches lovers,” so He started making sandwiches how the cuban immigrants used to do it. People loved his sandwiches, and word spread about the quality meats and cheese, fresh rolls and produce. It was a regular occurrence to hear people saying “La Esquina del Pan con Bistec makes the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten!”Over time, their popularity grew and in 2011, Gabriel Gaviria, bought it. The formula is so successful that a new location is now open.

Our Products
Stop by La Esquina del Pan con Bistec early in the morning to see older men sipping cortaditos (Cuban coffees), or pop by the busy take-out window at lunchtime to grab a traditional Cuban sandwich, sweet ham, roast pork and Swiss cheese on toasted Cuban bread with mustard and pickles. But really, the highlight of a trip to La Esquina del Pan con Bistec is early in the morning after a night of drinks and dance, which for the local Cuban population starts sometime after 2 a.m. As the night rolls on, the place fills up with locals, chattering together and enjoying traditional meals like pan con bistec, cuban sandwich, pastelitos or frita cubana.
